Co-Managing Partner — Apple & Odom

Derrick Apple, CPA

Derrick Apple is a veteran of over 17 years in public accounting and is experienced with financial statement reporting, tax advisory, and tax compliance. His primary focus is helping small to medium sized businesses and not for profits with financial statement audits and reviews, while also providing in- depth tax knowledge and personalized tax planning strategies.

Derrick performs audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon-procedures engagements to a wide range of clients such as construction contractors, manufacturers, captive insurance companies, restaurants, churches, homeowners’ associations, and professional service firms such as law firms, architects, and medical practices. He also offers small business tax planning, compliance, and consulting.

Derrick earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Charleston Southern University and a Master of Science in Accountancy from the College of Charleston. He is active in the Lowcountry community, serving on both the Board of Visitors and Advisory Board for the Nielsen School of Business at Charleston Southern University, where he is also a part-time instructor. A native of Columbia, SC, Derrick and his family currently reside in Mount Pleasant.

Patrick Odom, CPA/ABV, CFE

Patrick Odom, CPA is a partner with Apple & Odom with over 10 years of experience in public accounting. He specializes in providing tax and advisory services, and he is greatly experienced in business and individual income tax planning, outsourced accounting, and business valuation. Patrick regularly assists clients with budgeting and cash flow forecasts as well as the assessment of traditional or alternative financing options.

Mr. Odom also provides business valuation and due diligence services for mergers and acquisitions and/or estate and gift tax planning, as well as forensic accounting and litigation support services for family law and complex commercial disputes. He is a certified public accountant, a certified fraud examiner, and he is accredited in business valuation.

Patrick serves clients in a wide range of industries, including retail, real estate, construction, healthcare, professional services, food and beverage, and hospitality and tourism industries.

Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accountancy from the College of Charleston. He has been a featured speaker at events sponsored by the National Business Institute (NBI) and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Patrick currently resides in Mount Pleasant with his wife and four children.
